Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lexi AI platform and related services provided by OpenLaw AI, Inc. (“OpenLaw AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using Lexi AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Lexi AI platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Lexi AI on behalf of a law firm or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Lexi AI is an artificial intelligence platform designed for law firms. The platform provides tools for client intake, document drafting, deadline tracking, legal research, e-filing, billing, and workflow automation. Lexi AI is accessed through web applications, messaging platform integrations (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams), and related interfaces.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Enterprise Accounts

Enterprise accounts allow a firm owner to invite team members, manage shared integrations, passwords, workflows, and billing. The firm owner is responsible for managing access and ensuring all members comply with these Terms. Invited members are bound by these Terms upon accepting an invitation.

5. Fees and Payment

  • Certain features of Lexi AI require payment of fees, including enterprise deposit tiers.
  • All fees are stated in U.S. dollars and are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
  • Payment is processed through Stripe. By providing payment information, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Enterprise deposits may be paid in installments as permitted by the platform. Access to enterprise features is granted upon full payment of the selected deposit tier.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Lexi AI for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform or servers
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform
  • Use the platform to transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Share account credentials with unauthorized third parties
  • Scrape, mine, or extract data from the platform through automated means

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Lexi AI platform — including software, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks — are owned by OpenLaw AI, Inc. and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without written permission.

8. Your Data

  • You retain ownership of all data, documents, and content you upload to or create within Lexi AI.
  • You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the platform services.
  • We will not use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

9. AI-Generated Content

Lexi AI uses artificial intelligence to assist with legal tasks. AI-generated content is provided as a tool and should not be considered legal advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving any AI-generated output before use. OpenLaw AI is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

10. Third-Party Integrations

Lexi AI may integrate with third-party services. Your use of third-party integrations is subject to the respective third party's terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the platform for maintenance, updates, or security purposes. We will provide reasonable notice of planned downtime when possible.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenLaw AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OpenLaw AI, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

15. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms or for any reason with 30 days' notice.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. We will retain your data for 30 days to allow for export, after which it will be deleted.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the federal or state courts located in Delaware.

17. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of Lexi AI after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
